Recording to tape and drive simultaneously???

The Focus website clearly states that the HVX200 and Firestore combo can simultaneously record to tape and drive. This statement is made in the FAQ section. For example, I want to record Pro50 to the Firestore FS100 and Pro25 to tape (as a backup). I can't find info anywhere, that states what settings to achieve this. Has anyone done this. Please forward any info, I've got a shoot on Monday. BTW once again can someone at Panny (Jan??? maybe??) and someone at Focus get together and document the various workflows, so that we, the users, can start to get rolling with these products? BTW Avid (Adrenaline on PC, my editing solution) feel free to jump in too! THANKS FOR ANY INFO!

My guess is that if you are recording a flavor that can be recorded on the HVX DV deck, then you can record both.
I would be suprised if the HVX could do HD and record to tape also. That's why you need to select the settings before recording. But it would be coooooool.

No you can't do that. You could record DV to the tape and to the firestore, but the camera can only be in one mode at a time, and the firewire output sends out the same signal that the camera's recording. So if you want tape, that means DV and only DV.

You could, however, record DV50 to the firestore and to the p2 card at the same time.
