Recording to both cards

I plan to try some long time-lapse shots with the af-100 with the long recording times. How will it work with dumping 1 long clip off 2 cards? Will I have to dump the footage off the camera?

Not sure what you're asking. It doesn't record to both cards simultaneously, but it can do a "relay record" where it wraps over from one card to the next. Time lapse is limited to 12 hours of source time, so you should be able to fit that all on one card easily. If you need to go beyond 12 hours you have to re-start the camera at the 12-hour mark.

Ok so if I were to record 1 long clip on (2) x 4gb cards. When I go to trans code the footage from my card reader, I can only read 1 card at a time. 1 of the cards would have the first part of the clip and the second card would have the end of the clip. Then I would just merge them in post?

If it's like the HVX workflow in FCP - the merge is automatic and seamless in the background. The machine just knows...

The camera would run off of DC power. If there is no power around in a remote location, you would have to eventually switch batteries

And when you switch batteries, the camera resets the time.

Not supposed to. Your internal battery was probably discharged. Turn the power off and leave it plugged into AC power for four hours, that'll recharge the internal battery and then time and timecode should stay consistent even when changing batteries.
