I ran into an interesting situation on a shoot yesterday. I was recording a standard talking head interview with 2 GH2's, both hacked with the "Zero Adverse Setting" Patch. I bought an HDMI switcher to monitor both cameras from 1 screen. This was a huge help as we set up the lighting and BG but I also wanted to keep an eye on them during the interview.
Once everything was set we roll on both cameras, roll on sound, slate and we are off. I give a quick look at camera angle 1 which was located just around the corner. Everything looked good so I switch to Camera 2 which is a few feet in front of me. I notice a flicker on the LCD, which I happened to leave open, and could see it wasn't recording anymore. I went and checked the other camera and it was not recording anymore either. Initiating the switcher turned on the external monitor on camera 2 and turned off the external monitor on camera 1.
Is this standard with the stock firmware or is this a result of the hack?
If it is this way across the board, is my only solution to see both cameras having a dedicated monitor for each one?
Thanks for any help.
