Recording screen display?

Hi all,

Is there a setting or method by which the DVX screen display information (things that you would see in mode check; zoom setting, focus setting, etc.) can be recorded as part of the DV stream?

We're developing some video training, and it would be great to show people those settings as they change.

Any tips appreciated

You can record all that info through the analog outputs, by turning Video OSD->ON. So if you want to record to an external DV deck (via RCA or S-video, not firewire), that'd work.

Some data (like exposure and gain) is recorded automatically in the DV Subcode area. I don't remember what all information gets recorded there, but on the remote control for my old Sony TRV7 there was a "data" button that you could toggle through and it would show time/date or DV subcode. You might try that...
