recording over

how do i prevent the dvx100a from automatically rewinding a few seconds when i turn it off and back on? i end up not noticing it does this and i record over valuable footage.

i always make sure to end on black when im done shooting make sure i dont roll on something i need

After power-up you can hit the VTR button and then the "end Search" button (both on the back). This will take you to the end of the time code. Press the VTR button again to return to record mode.

thanks for the tips guys. but is there no way to just turn it off?
