Recording out to P2 from FCP?

I've seen minor discussions on this but no specifics. I'm using FCP. Edited it with a Kona LH, but I assume I'll have to embed it in a standard DVCPro HD 720p/24 sequence to get the firewire part activated?

Have followed the steps in the white paper, but still can't get the HVX to record. I'm in the MCR mode, but can't get start recording... even when the sequence is already playing in PTT.

Anyway, can anyone list the exact steps and settings? The white paper is a bit vague.

Turn on the camera in camera mode, go to menu 5, and go to REC FORMAT
and choose 720/24P.
Then toggle to MCR mode.
Turn the thumbnails off.

Start FCP 5.0.4.

Choose the "easy setup": DVCPRO HD 720/24p

Create a new sequence.

Import a DVCPRO HD 720p file and place it on the timeline.

Click anywhere on the timeline -- you'll see firewire preview on the
HVX's LCD. Scrub the timeline, you'll see the video footage on the
HVX's LCD.
Click "play" on the timeline preview, and it'll play back the video both
in the Apple preview monitor, and also through the firewire to the HVX's
LCD screen. Note: the footage will be displayed on the HVX's LCD, but
it will not go out the component outputs to any monitor you may have
attached to the HVX. It will, however, go out the s-video or composite
video ports.

Go to File->Print To Video. When it tells you to start recording on the
HVX, press the two (gray and red) record buttons on the top of the
camera's body, and click "ok" in FCP -- it'll send the video out the
firewire, and you'll see it play in realtime on the HVX display, and the
HVX will record it.

The HVX will create an MXF clip that the HVX can play back from its
thumbnail screen.

Thanks Barry... I wasn't doing all of the camera stuff BEFORE launching FCP. That works if you follow your steps in order...
