Recording onto DVX from a DVD player

I want to make a copy of a dvd on my DVX so i have the ouput from the dvd player going into the dvx, put it on vcr mode and it shows up, but how the heck do i make it record onto tape? I press the record button and nothing happens...

Oh im dumb and didnt see the button... does the DVX now allow you to copy dvds though? It says copy inhibited

The analog inputs of the DVX are compliant with the Macrovision restrictions. If the disc in question uses this form of protection, the DVX will not allow it to be recorded.

Sorry, didnt specify what im trying to do - own the DVD of supper troppers and i have to cut a trailer for it for my short form production class

so how does someone record onto dvx from a dvd, i ask as i have an amazing radiohead concert on my tivo that i cannot buy and want to put onto a dvd, is it possible ?

It's possible; there's hacks and patches to allow you to extract the video and burn it to DVD.

If you really want to bother with that sorta thing.

re: dvds...if you have a DVD burner drive, just get one of the tools out there that lets you pull MPEGs offa protected DVDs, then re-burn them to a blank disc.
