Recording light from a Tanning Bed

I have been asked to film some stuff for a local salon and day spa. One of the products that they offer is tanning and they would like a section that shows a lady in the bed while it is running. I don't want to hurt my camera and I am not sure if there is a good way to go about doing this. I am totally new to this prosumer market and any type of project like this. Any light that can be shed on this subject of recording direct lighting without hurting the camera and not over exposing would be great!

Thanks a million

Hey,
I have done this shot a million times, both Film & Tape. First the light it SUPER BLUE. You must use like 5 (really) 85 filters to get a color balance for it. It will not hurt the camera, BUT YOU will be effected. The first time I did it it was like looking into a wielder spark. My eyes oozed & hurt for 2 days, really. WEAR the little glasses. There is so much light in there you will be fine with them.

1) 5 - 85 filters
2) white balance with bed on
3) except for about 5 or so minuets wear the goggles ...
4) Enjoy the swimsuits !!

Or do you need a shot of the bed hardware and spa room & the bed running.

If so then do a double exposure.

1) One for the room and hardware & a second for the PROPERLY exposed & WB light

2) Mix in After Effects / FCP ...

This shot must be a lock down. (or motion control)

Have fun and Protect your eyes,

Steve
