Recording externally

Hi all, new here.

I posted a similar question in the 7d/t2i section(please look at it as well).

Is it possible to retain the full resolution of what the sensor "sees" by routing the HDMI to an external recorder with much greater power than the in camera processor and recording the camera's live view(without hitting the camera's record button).
IF( that's the BIG IF) the HDMI feed out is the FULL resolution capability of the sensor, why then can we not bypass the in camera codec and eliminate aliasing from the equation?

Thank you for any education you can give me. I do not have a camera yet, and may have this all wrong, but it seems possible.

I do not think HDMI standard can handle the full datastream coming from the sensor. By quick calculation it would be 12.6 Gb/sec. The compressed video stream is 35Mb/sec. That is a 360 fold difference.

To capture that amount of data you would need a 6 TeraByte hard disk per hour of video.

Future, yes...
