Recording composite video in with XLR audio?

I am using the dvx for recording a video tap off a film camera. The video signal captured from the RCA video in records great.

My question is about the audio.
Is there a way to record the audio in from the xlrs (or built in camera mic) along with that video in? The intent is using the camera to record scratch audio tied to the picture from the video tap.
The audio dub feature seems to be only for prerecorded video to add sound after the fact.

I prefer not to use the RCA audio jack (so I can use phantom power!), but that may be the only way.

I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks,

Not possible. You can only use the composite video input when in VCR mode, and the XLRs are disabled in VCR mode.

The only way you could do what you're asking would be to leave the camera in camera mode, and film a TV or other video tap output while using the XLRs for input.

Ok,
Kind of a bummer, but I'm happy to at least have the video working.

One other question then when using the RCA audio in with VCR mode. Ive got the older dvx100 and have heard something about it offsetting the audio by two frames in progressive mode.
Does it apply in this case/ in vcr mode?

Thanks Barry!
