recording audio in 720 24p Native

reading the HVX200 manual PDF file online, on page 35 it seems to suggest that no audio is recorded while shooting in 720p 24Native mode:

"Sound is not recorded. However, sound will be recorded when the same frame rate is used for both recording and playback."

What does that mean, exactly? Is the camera recording audio in 24pN mode or not?
Assuming I record at 24pN and play back at the same 24fps, will I have audio?
It's kind of a weirdly-worded piece of technical writing, if you ask me ...

It means that when you under/overcrank sound is not recorded (for example, when in 24p mode but shooting 60fps, no sound)

On the same page of the manual (dealing with Native recording) it states:

"No signals are output from the 1394 terminal during recording or recording standby in the native mode."

Wouldn't this mean that it's not possible to use an external drive, such as the Firestore, when recording in Native mode on the HVX200? Isn't that sort of a problem for those of us who want to alternate between cards and drives for recording but want to shoot in a consistent format? Sorry if this has already been addressed somewhere else on the DVXuser site ...

jlongley -- we have to wait until final FS specs are released, but it is possible that the FS will convert PA to PN within the device... or at least that's my understanding.

any firm release date for the Firestore yet?
I would like to start using the HVX for a long-form documentary this spring; need to resolve all the work-flow issues ...

Firestore people told me they will not record native mode to the firestore, anyone else have more updated info?
