Hey guys,

so I was trying to figure out if I record 1080p24 in camera, if I want to plug in a 720p screen though the HDMI out, will it work? :engel017:

In Barry's book, it says the signal coming out is automatically matching the recording format, unless you set it to downconv, which would be in SD. :thumbdown

Asking this because the director I'm working with will probably want a smaller screen than 20" (consumer LCD, nothing fancy) and under that size a lot of them are 720p... :Drogar-Mark-10(DBG)

Thanks!

Any HD monitor needs to be able to downscale a 1080p signal to display properly on its screen, no matter how many physical pixels it has. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to play broadcast TV or Blu-Ray discs on it, either.

So if I plug in my AF100 to a 720p LCD TV, the TV will automatically downscale the 1080 signal of the cam to 720?

(sorry if it sounds stupid, but since I actually never did it with my cam, just want to make sure...)

Thanks.
