FS7: Record Triggering with Atomos Shogun not Reliable

I started noticing that my Atomos Shogun is missing 3/4 of the record start/stop triggers during a shoot.

I'm not sure if the FS7 firmware update to 3.1 caused this, or a recent update to Atomos Shogun's firmware.

Yesterday, I recorded about 50 clips internally to XQD cards. The Shogun recorded about a dozen to its SSD.

I noticed that most of the time, at record start, the Shogun didn't start, although time code was rolling in the Shogun display. When I caught on to the problem, I manually started Shogun recording, but when I stopped the camera recording, the Shogun continued to record.

But then there were several times where the Shogun started recording when the camera started recording, without need to intervene.

I checked the Shogun's HDMI configuration and it's set to Time Code and Trigger On. So it's configured as instructed. It's just missing the triggers most of the time now, whereas it used to be 100% reliable with triggering off the FS7 a month ago.

Has anyone noted this problem and was it found to be a problem in the Shogun, or was it the FS7?

That was my first thought. Bad cables usually manifest as dropouts in the video signal however. Since I'd updated firmware recently, and this issue cropped up after the firmware upgrades, I found myself suspecting the firmware.

Just to satisfy curiosity, I'll try another new cable to replace the nearly new cable that is in use.
