When ever I set my camera on the TAPE format and record, my video looks neat when I capture it in my computer. But when ever I set on P2 mode and record, my video has some noise look on it when I upload it to my computer. How can I fix this

Are you using the same settings and filming in the same conditions?

the HVX doesn't record HD onto the tape (although you can dump HD from the P2 too Tape)
I found the DVX was really noisy on the Computer but the HVX not as much so.... There is a theid on Noise I created some time ago where I used a plug-in called Neatvideo. If your shooting in dark conditions this always helps to clean up the footage.

The HVX IS a noisy Camera, period!. I have two 200a's I have been shooting on exclusively for 3 years. I was deeply disturbed with it when I got my first one. You just learn to live with it, I rarely hear anyone complain. Some even consider it "The look of the HVX" (personally, I call it noise) It is par for the course on these cameras. Even when lit properly, the darker area's of the screen will have noise. Things like Sparkle Mode will bring it out even more so, You have to learn to make some scene files you can live with.

For what it is worth, I don't notice it in my final editis much once I get them off the Computer monitor. My clients have never complained and it has even won us a few awards. I have learned to look the other way 70% of the time because it usually "comes out in the wash" at the end.

Here is a link to a Corp Video we JUST finished up. The green screening was HELL to do, due to the excessive noise. But I got through it. (It also did not help that the client dressed in solid Black, I was not prepared for that) 90% of this was shot on an HVX. There are a few Royalty Free clips, and lots of Photo's (due to budget restraints) but most was shot on an HVX. Make sure to look closely at the evening/sunset shots of the Wind-Turbines, and the clients clothing in the green screen comps, you will see "that signature HVX noise".

It is what it is Man. You can clean it up in in post, but in my opinion, it is a handicap you can learn to live with as long as you don't point it at stuff that will bring it out. The newer B model has better Signal To Noise I am told.
