Now I now this may seem stupid at first but here's my logic. With the P2 cards you can erase blown takes immediately to extend your shooting time. But what happens to outtakes, bloopers ect? What if you could record HD to the P2 while also rolling SD onto a MiniDV tape to capture everything? This may seem a far stretch but have any of you heard of the HVX200 being capable of this?

I've wondered this myself. It would also serve as a "better than nothing" backup of your footage. I know you can downconvert HD from the P2 cards to the mini-dv tape. Can this be done on the fly?

I'm pretty sure I asked about this way back when, and was told no, because it would involve two different codec processors at the same time...
