Recommended scene for testing scene files

Hi everyone, I am looking for suggestions on scene setup or studio setup to best test each of the scene file settings like MASTER PED, DETAIL CORING, KNEE, etc.
I understand some of these settings but others I do not and I think the best way to get a grasp of what each setting does will be to spend some time in the studio shooting a scene and noting the differences between each different setting.

Any helpful ideas would be, helpful.

I don't know if Barry Green has written an HPX300 book, but his HVX200/HPX170 book explains what these settings do very clearly and would be helpful, I would think, with respect to those settings the 300 and 200/170 have in common.
