Recommended filming mode on GH1

Hi all,
I'm a GH1 user for the past 6 months so there are things that I am still learning about it. However, there is one question that I have to ask;- When filming, I better off having the dial on my GH1 on the motion picture sign or turned to the "M" sign? I know that in using both these forms I have the ability to control the aperture and the shutter speed but is there any difference between the two?

the M on the dial is for stills photography

the M+camera icon is for shooting motion pictures (movies) with manual settings.

altho you can record movies in the M stills mode but i think it uses the Ai automatic settings.

i always shoot video in the motion picture setting (M+camera icon on dial), i occasionally flick into M on the dial for manual stills photography.

hope this helps

Terra,
Thanks for the reply. I ask because I was shooting footage in low-light settings last night and by accident I filmed a short film clip on the "M" photography setting. Upon playing it back on my computer later on in the night, and comparing "M" footage against "M+camera" footage, I thought that the quality in low-light came out slightly clearer on the "M" photography mode than it did on the "M+camera" mode...... or maybe it was just my imagination.
And when using Ai automatic settings, how would that influence settings on "M" mode when the camera user has control over the shutter speed and aperture?
