recommended chargers?

I need some new chargers for my HVX and am trying to choose between blowing an extra $150 - $200 for the Dolgin TC400 (with 4 batteries from Spec comm) or just getting the batts separate and buying 4 Lenmar Mach 1 chargers which is much cheaper.

I like the idea of having a 4 unit charger with one plug, but it costs more and is supposed to fast charge in 3.5 hours as opposed to 2.5 on the Lenmars. Also the Dolgin is supposed to equalize the charge circuits so that all 4 batts come out at the same time. I wonder if that slows the process down if you say keep adding discharged batteries as you use them. Does it make you wait for the first batt while the later ones catch up.
I'm often using a Marshall on my HVX these days and that can mean that your batts go down fairly fast. I want chargers in the field that will keep up with production.

I'm a little wary of the Lenmars because I had one of them just die on me and someone bad mouthed them pretty bad on this forum a while ago. I like the price and the speed though, and my buddy has had good luck with them I don't know of any other alternatives to those 2.

Any thoughts out there

I'll never buy Lenmar again--they don't seem to go the distance.

Regarding your Dolgin questions, you should just e-mail him.

A price alternative might be to go with the 2 battery Dolgin model. I got one from him when they first came out and am nothing short of satisfied. Fewer bells and whistles but much less money.

The Dolgin ROCKS. The four batteries charge independently of each other with no sequencing so its like having 4 separate chargers rolled into one. Get it, you won't regret it.

agreed with the 4-way Dolgin. Independant charging. Great to have on set, meaning you're never without a charged battery. Brilliant piece of kit.

I take the TC400 with me every where I go. It is awesome. It's worth the extra $'s.
Plus I got double the warranty as a DVXUser perk.

Lenilenapi, charging the same size battery, Lenmar is approximately 20% slower than the TC400 model. You might want to consider a new less expensive FOUR ZERO 4X model; it is as fast as the TC400 charging 1 or 2 batteries, slows down a little for 3 or 4.

Once you get over the sticker shock of the Dolgin, you won't look back. I wish I would have bought one sooner. THe Dolgin is a truly professional solution rather than another prosumer hack job.

It also frees up the Panny charger to be a dedicated power source for the camera if need be. You can leave it in the camera case without wondering if you remembered to bring pack it up or not.

Seriously, it's worth it.

well, I'm glad i asked. Thanks folks.
Hey where are the Lenmar supporters here?
Looks like I'll swing for the Dolgin.

one more vote for the Dolgin. I've been very happy with mine and I power it from a 95 watt solar panel for shooting in the backwoods.

What about the IDX LC-7P? Our reseller reccomended this one. $350 from bandh, independent 4 channel.

The Dolgin looks nice though!
