little bit a of a background - I work for a decently large company who wanted to start doing webcasting related stuff. Being that I fit the bill better than others that applied (I knew my way around premiere, photoshop, tons of general IT and pc knowledge etc) I applied and got the job. So far I've setup a great webinar 'room' with macromedia breeze and voip stuff that's easy to use.
The next step they want to do is setup actual training videos - as in, someone behind a presentation desk being recorded whom is teaching/talking about our product. (this will require different angles, some close up shots, etc). Now.. While I have used premiere for splicing and editing existing videos, I have no experience in actually FILMING the video/audio and getting it to the pc. I've already purchased sound forge, but here is what I need:
1) equipment. I need mics, we already have a digital camcorder (not awesome quality but will work for what I need). some sort of dvd authoring program, etc.
2) I'm assuming nothing has changed in the past few years - video is copied to the computer via firewire, correct?
