Recommendations for fast zooms with OIS

Finally ordered my AF100 today and now I figure I have a few weeks to get lenses. I know I want a past prime, but I also need a zoom, preferably fast, with OIS. Any recommendations?

thanks!

The Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f1.7 is a must own lens in my opinion. This was the first one I purchased. Love it. Its really a 40mm so its not that wide but a perfect normal fast lens and looks great wide open. Talks to the AF-100 perfectly so you can get used to how other Panasonic lenses will function. I also purchased a fast used NIKON 50/1.8 D AF. Great cheap fast lens for around $100.00 used.
Fast zooms are pricey and Canon L glass is nice but the Birger Mount is expensive and I wont be planning my purchase for it until I see it in action. I have 17-40 and Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Both f4. Not fast enough for indoors or shallow DOF.

Yea I am right there with you on the Birger mount. In truth, it may end up being the deciding factor on whether or not I purchase an AF100.

Birger said (at one point) February 14, 2011 as a release date, but I am not holding my breath on that one.

hi reader the best fast zooms right now are the Olympus 14-35mm/f2.0 and the Olympus 35-100mm. tested them at abelcine and they are both extremely sharp and quick to autofocus. having said that i own the canon 24-70mm/2.8 and the 70-200mm/2.8 IS as well as 16-35mm. so these lenses will be great once the birger comees out.

also you might want to consider 7-14mm panasonic not that fast at 4.0 but gives you the necessary wideness that the 2x crop factor lacks. also another lens which is terrific for this camera on the wide end is the tokina 11-16mm f/2.8. i suggest getting this one with the novoflex nikon adapter.
