Recommendations for Cine-like shoot?

Hi everyone.
I've got TV spot coming up that is for local television. It will be shot outdoors on location in the daylight, using HMC150s and an HCK10 (HMC40).
I want to try to give it less of a local TV look and instead more cinematic. It will involve mostly a conversation between two people. Some jib shots.
What settings do you recommend?
1080 24P, high enough shutter to smooth out jib shots. Cine-like V? D?
Or?

1080 24P, high enough shutter to smooth out jib shots.

If you want cinematic (especially as opposed to typical local commercials), then yes, you want 24p. Most local TV stations don't show local commercials in HD, so while there's no real reason not to shoot in 1080, it won't be aired that way.

However, high shutter speeds don't smooth out anything; they make things more staccato.

Shutter speeds below 1/48 start to look less cinematic, so you'll want to stay about right there, though this too is a matter of taste.

But it's not the shutter speed which is the primary culprit of making camera movement choppy -- it's the frame rate, and how quickly you move the camera. No matter what your shutter speed, at 24p, you need to be moving the camera slowly.

Cine-like V? D? Or?

Gamma is really a matter of taste and what's appropriate for your material.

But more than all of this, if you want it to have a polished, professional cinematic look, and not something for the local car dealership, you need to be controlling your light. You'll need silks, reflectors, bounceboards, black flags, etc. And if you have them available to you, you'll probably want some HMIs with you.
