Oops, typo in heading. Could someone please point me in the right direction for an on camera shotgun mic for the FS5? Just for capturing ambient etc / syncing in post.
I currently have a Rode Video Mic Pro, but would prefer XLR so I don't have to worry about the 9V battery dying on me at an inconvenient time. I do like the high pass filter and -10db pad options on the Rode, so a XLR mic that has those features would be great. Budget: sub $1k I guess, if it can serve on camera and outdoor interview purposes.
If the mic is able to double as a boom mic for outdoor interviews, that'd be ideal. If there's no decent option, I'll look into getting another mic for that purpose (any recommendations?). I have an AT4053B for indoor interviews.
