recommendation steadycam for wedding

i say glidecam 2000 pro

i use it , love it. A little heavy after a while but i managed to suse it 7 days in prague shooting a tape a day, and while we were walking i just held it on my shoulder.

although i did have problems with my arm the last day in, but that was due to using the hotels gym,, a little excessively.. but enough about me...

great item, amazing quality once perfected.

I have Glidecam 2000 pro too.Very nice product and price.I use it in weddings as much as i can.Although you can't hold it after some minutes if i shoot without stops. You must have a trained strong arm.PaPa one tape a day is pretty much with it :).
But if you can afford to use it with smooth shooter(i made some shots and it's just great) it make it so easy and flexible.
Then you'll have a pro stabilizer.

I am going to get the varizoom flopod. It is a hand held stabilizer and a monopod. You can just drop the bottom out and lock the handle to use it as a monopod as well. I will let you know what I think, if you have a couple of weeks.

I have the machoglide from ebay. Cheap and works like a dream. Also very comftable because it has grips. I have shot for an hr without being tired. whatsoever. I was originaly going for the Glidecam 2000 pro but it was more then I could spend and it does the same job just cheaper. You can also make your own i saw a site that said u can build it for 14 dollars. PM me if you want the site because i don't want to spam.

If you want a true steadycam, this isn't it. But if you want nicely stabilized shots (not steadycam, but well stabilized) with no fatigue, the DV MultiRig has been a great benefit to me and has tons of other uses. With some practice you can get some pretty damn smooth shots, too.

i would edit the " does the same job just cheaper "

no gimble, then were talking about a stabilizer, not a steadycam. Different league completely.

I would go even further and say the bst steadIcam for a wedding is a MERLIN you want GREAT shots?

When the author said any recommendation of steadycam for wedding. ?
I think he was talking about a steadycam. I didint know the Glidecam 2000 pro wasint a steadycam. But in reply to the question you can make ur own for 14 bux or a little more. A steadycam that is. sorry for any confusion

Eh... that $14 one isn't really practical for a wedding. I made one just out of boredom one day a couple years ago. For absolutely zero budget... you can achieve a decent shot, but it still looks like a thrown together hung of metal, and that would be obtrusive at a wedding.

I have a merlin, and love it. It take's a lot of getting used to as far as how sensitive the balancing is, but the shots you can achieve make's the practice well worth it.

Anyway... you didn't mention your budget, which is a HUGE factor when asking a question like that.

If its got a gimble, you can expect good results. The merlin is twice the price as the glidecam but ive heard nothing but good things.

That 14 dollar thingamagig has one purpose, and thats to add weight which increases its inertia, meaning it wont shake as heavily, so it steadies it in that sense, but it does not get rid of human influence ( shake, bounce, swaying )

if you ever get your hands on both of them, youll see and feel the difference right away.
