Recognizing older model JVC HD 100 form newer ones

Hey guys, as always thanks for you great contribution, I'm aiming at picking a hd101 in Oct 06, I know, I know. Here in the land of Australia its $9000. And I'm not oozing with dollars, thus my keen research even this early in the peice, also, I'm a camera operator and dp for my church who are later in the year going to air, we're getting 3 hd101s in 2 weeks. So I'm really amped.
Just a quick question, was the hd101 a later model, and thus the sse probs were eliminated prior to release, or was it simultaneously released, and thus you must still be weary?:dankk2:

These boards can help keep everyone on their toes, but I wouldn't let a few reports of malfunctions keep you from buying this camera - If there's a problem, JVC seems to be a fairly responsive company (this board has had a few visits from JVC big-wigs for instance) to people's problems.

More than a few and it's increasing. I've had calls from people I don't even know, really sky-high ups from companies including JVC and Anton Bauer wanting to know how they can help. So they read these boards with keene interst.

The 101 is not a later model. The 101 is the identical same camera, with the difference being that the 101 has firewire input enabled (the 50Hz/PAL HD100 doesn't have firewire input).

The only difference between a European/Australian HD100 and HD101 is the firewire input (and the pricetag).

always the gentleman, hopefully there maybe a remote possibility of a update of the jvc at NAB, I would say the same for the HVX the other camera i'm still really considering, but I can't see Panasonic doing anything this close to the release date, there'd be a riot at their front doors for all the early birds:kali:
