Hey I am an aspiring film student who just purchased a DVX100B from a producer in Texas who didn't have the time to learn its intricacies. Seeming that my free time is almost 100 percent learning about such things, besides college party life of course  , I was hoping to take some time to read through books on the camera, and also camera work in general. Any opinions or things to look forward to with my new DVX100B?

This is my first post on the forum. I have read a great deal of the threads and am very pleased with it so far.

Welcome aboard,

Read everything you can here and go out and shoot something with your new toy!

Welcome. I'd suggest starting with Barry Green's Book and DVD. Also visit the audio forum here. I've found it invaluable.

If you have a chance to attend one of the DVX Boot Camp's, that's also extremely informative.

Then, experiment with Changing Scene File parameters, learn how the lens works and focal lengths, learn the audio set up (you'll be glad you did later).

Go out and shoot!

Thanks a lot guys I will order the book as well as the DVD. The boot camp will be harder with my college schedule. I am double majoring in film and physics! Yikes. Anyway I'll definitely give any oppurtinities a shot!

Thanks guys!
