i made this in about 6 hours total  for a 48 hour film fest type thing, so i know theres some stuff thats a little off.. but i was too busy playing halo 2 to care.  :P anyway    tell me what you think.

you must right click and "save as" .. then rename the file to remove the "x" from the end of the file name in order to play the file.

sync was a little off, but that's all I noticed. All the other stuff was pretty cool.

Made me giggle - very stylish shooting - what did you use to edit with? How did you do the light-cross-transition?

That was pretty funny, IAL. Any special reason you opted to voice over in post instead of using the location sound? Was that your voice replacing the actor's? (at least that's what it seemed like to me)

And was that trapcode shine you used for the light beam transitions?

I have to admit, I had the volume WAAAAAYYYYY down and my heart was pounding... because I kept expecting to have a screaming zombie jump out at me :o

hey thanks guys, ..yeah it was just a little thing i did for the sake of doing something.  the light effect really isnt a transition. i just used it as one. if you flash something at peoples eyes like that it they really dont notice that the rest of the vid just has a straight cut. the effect is from cy-core effects in AE 6.5 pro. its either "light rays" or "light something or other" i cant remember the exact name. ..ill post the correct name after i take a look at it. .. and, yes thats me doing the voices ..i am a man of many voices :P   like this one here in this strange thing i did as well:

Yeah I had seen that commercial from another thread you posted. I liked it a lot. Was wondering if you could post your compression settings for that commercial? I like the fast download and oversize frame you've got going there.

Speaking of frame, is it just me or is that film out of frame? Like it's positioned incorrectly in the viewing window? Looks like it's cut off at the top and we see way too much of the bottom black matte and none on the top.

hmm, ..im not sure which one your asking about, but they both display correctly for me . as far as the compression on that 2nd vid it was compressed using a propreitary quicktime format which autocompresses when using an upload manager. so i really have no idea as to what settings were used :-/ . .. oh yeah, i forgot to answer you before. i had to do the VO because my little daughter was with me when we shot that, and she was in the next room watching "Dora the Explorer" , so using the production audio wasnt an option. i just used it to try and sink to when doing ADR. i did about 2 attempts straight through, and then said "close enough" on the third.

I was referring to the 9/11 being prepared commercial. It could be a browser issue. I'm running safari on a mac and on my screen, there is no black bar on top and the frame looks cut off by the image area. About 1/3 of the lower part of the frame is a black bar.

Nice job. I agree with "glassblowerscat" that the sound sync was off a tiny bit, but the editing and choice of camera angles were all "spot on" !!! ;D
