GH2 Rec Highlight feature

What's the difference between "REC HIGHLIGHT" from Motion Picture menu and "HIGHLIGHT" from Custom menu. The manual description seems to be the same - it's zebra-like blinking of blown out areas. But "HIGHLIGHT" from Custom menu alone has no such effect for me. I have this blinking only if "REC HIGHLIGHT" is on. What's that simple "HIGHLIGHT" for?

"REC HIGHLIGHT" shows blinking blown-out areas during recording, but "HIGHLIGHT" only shows them on in-camera playback. The limitation, as far as I can tell, is that it only works on stills, or on the first frame of a video clip. As soon as I play back a video clip, the blinking goes away, and pausing on a frame doesn't show the blinking highlight either. I think this feature is aimed primarily at still photographers.
