Reasonable B cam to AF100

I'm looking for a reasonably priced B cam to the AF100 for events. I used the HV30's with my canon setup, but am unsure how these will match up with the AF100. I read a little about the TM700 being a good little cam. Are there others out there I should know about? I'm looking for something that will sit on a tripod and capture a second or third angle, so I need it to be fairly self sufficient once set to record so I'm not sure how the GH1 or GH2 will work for that. I assume you'd probably have to man those cams while recording?

Why don't you ask this question down in the GH1/GH2 forum. They may have better insight as to what is necessary when running those cameras.

I'm keeping my HMC150 for this very reason and I'm also picking up a GH2 to have a C camera. I think that they'll match fairly well and the 150 is a great choice for run and gun and to get shots with deep DOF. I simply love the camera and now the price is really good...

If you end up with a european PAL GH1 you will have to use the firmware hack to remove a 30 minute recording limit unique to that version. The camera will record until the card is full and can sit on standby for days if plugged in to the power adapter. Autoexposure and autofocus are available, or you can leave it on manual. The GH1 works great unattended as long as the thieves leave it alone.

Great, thanks wbamb! It would be in sight of me at all times :)

A second AF100? You know they're going to match and will share lenses. B-Cam is very often nothing less than a kitted-down A-Cam.

I've been shooting with European GH1s for one year. Apart from the 30 minute recording limit they're totally autonomic, they run 2 hours on battery. I will now use a GH2 as second cam next to an AF101 and I'm sure it will work out ok.
