Real World Parody!

Hey there,

I made this with a group of friends using the DVX. It is a parody of MTV's The Real World. Lighting for the most part is natural except for the sit down interviews. The in house scenes I sort of shot "point and shoot" style as that is pretty much how they do reality tv anyway. Though with the sit down interviews, I wanted to make sure that they were well framed and well lit. All audio was recorded with the me66. This was shot in one day and edited in two nights. Feedback is much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Dont have much in terms of feedback, but I enjoyed it. Maybe a little too long. Did you shoot 24p? If so, why? This was a prime opportunity to exploit the "60i=real life" factor in people. =)

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. To Baseer, I recorded all audio with the Sennheiser ME66 (and pretty standard cables). I had the mic plugged into Imput 2 and switched Imput 1 to clone Imput 2. Didn't have to worry about doubling the tracks in post production. This was a pretty fast production and I didn't really have stage hands so no boom poll was used. I just mounted the mic onto the DVX using the camera's standard mic holder. As far as some of the wind and background noise goes, I didn't put on the cover for the mic because had I done so, the bottom of the mic would of been in frame. All of this could of been fixed with a little more time but I was in a rush. Regardless though, for the most part I think the audio came out at a very satisfactory level given the nature of the project.

Thank you for the feedback guys! I was considering sending this in to film schools that I am applying to. They tend to focus on narrative though. Do you think it would be appropiete or not?
