Re: Tilt Shift Lens Question

Re: Tilt Shift Lens Question

I'm still new to the world of Tilt Shift Lenses.

So I was wondering why would someone choose a Wide Angle Tilt Shift Lens over a Telescopic Tilit Shift Lens and vice versa? What kinds of artistic application would require one over the other?

And last question, to make a city look miniature, which focal length would I use and would the tilt function be more important than the shift function?

The selection of wide vs. telephoto angle of view is sort of independent of whether or not one wants to be able to correct for film plane parallel to architectural surfaces (assuming that's what is desired by using the tilt and shift capability...).

There is another use of the 'tilt' which uses the depth of field of the lens, focal 'plane', and its relationship to the sensor plane, to allow for 'very deep focus'... not frequently used by movie makers most likely...

So, the selection would be 'select angle of view', then decide to correct for parallel lines...
