Re-recording

Hey forum, i was filming some small things today n just wondered
If i film something n lets say fill up an entire tape - then later, rewind from the beginning n re-reorder over the other footage - will it decrease my images appearance/quality?

The only potential problem is that if your video drops out, you might see what was already on the tape. I never ever ever record over a tape. Tape is cheap enough to keep buying more, and if I ever need the footage again I wouldn't be able to get it back.

It's digital, so you don't get the loss of an analog tape, but there's always a risk. I usually buy my tapes from www.tapestockonline.com. They have good prices, $2.54 each with bulk discounts above 10 tapes.

This.

I never record over my tapes, whether it be superstition or something else. I also like having the hard copy, just in case I ever need to recapture something. I bought my tapes from B&H: 15 for a little over 40 bones.

**sorry if this is a dumb question but - when recording 24p does it take up more tape than if you were to record standard?
