Re-phrase:  I need help preparing a music video

For submission to a couple of different stations. My question is aside from being on beta, what else do I need? Timecode? Color bars etc? I've never done this part of it and could use some assistance, thanks!

what are you trying to trasnfer from? MiniDV? Is this for broadcasting?

Yes it's for broadcasting from MiniDV to BetaSP.

I work at a TV station....I just hook the camera up to the Beta deck and just make a dub. I wish there was a way to run FireWire to the deck that I use though.

You should ask the stations what formats they can accept. When I did stuff for PBS,Univision,NBC, I just gave them my mini dv. They said they'll handle it from there. I never had to convert to DVCpro, beta. I also never added color bars,etc. Just my finished projects from begining to end.

I don't know if they make beta firewire decks. Yeah, you can do what DVXshooter said just do a direct input from your minidv to beta or DVCpro deck.

beta decks dont have firewire at least the old ones dont maybe sx does but im not sure if do any way i used to transer out of a xl1 to a beta deck using a dv/analog converter that conected with the svideo or rca connectors.
