Re: On-Camera LCD - Best for Run and Gun + Manual Focusing Assist

Re: On-Camera LCD - Best for Run and Gun + Manual Focusing Assist

Which do you think is better when using the naked eye to spot focusing:

7" LCD 1024 x 600
or
5.6" LCD 1280 x 768 ????

clearly resolution and screen size is important but i have also been interested in false color, peaking and a quality wave form monitor assisting in proper focus.

ymmv

I have a zacuto evf which I prefer over the built-in LCD, but for run-and-gun situatios I find it too difficult to kit out. By the time I get it mounted on rails it just makes the rig too cumbersome for run-and-gun work, IMHO. There are some new, expensive evf brackets that might work better, but because of this I've gotten used to the built-in LCD/loupe even with its obvious shortcomings. For siuations where I have more time and a crew to carry gear, my DP-6 works very well.
