Any good alternatives to Good Alternative to 24-70 F2.8L and 16-35 F2.8L?

i am assuming for the fs100, and also assuming you are wanting cheaper and or more manual control.
-for the best in manual control (while not getting crazy expensive or huge like the Ziess Variprimes or the Cooke 15-40) there is the Red 17-50 (or the older 18-50) which, while they have excellent optics and great mechanics (compared to still glass) are quite pricey (again compared to still glass)
-the next step down i would consider to be the Nikon 17-35. it has an excellent reputation and fairly good manual focus and external aperture adjustment.
-i would say the super budget option would be the Tamron 17-50 non-VC version. good optics, but the mechanics leave some to be desired.

Nikon 17-35 f/2.8 D is a powerful option. If you need to save money and can live with distortion, the Nikon 18-35 f/3.5 - f/4.5 D ED-IF is just as sharp. Both feature manual iris control.

isn't Red 17-50 in the $4000 range?

@OP: Nikon 28-70mm is an alternative for 24-70mm
