I believe all the DVXs sold in North America are DVX100ap. It's nothing to be concerned about, the cameras are identical.

I've read DVXAP (P standing for Panasonic) are NTSC....DVX AE (E standing for Europe) is PAL.....

zordon co. is correct, except P stands for "Panasonic America" I believe. (Don't confuse it with Sony's model naming conventions where a P suffix denotes the PAL TV system).

You have the correct one.

at the risk of repetition....

DVX100A....new model as opposed to DVX100
DVX100AP...model in the US (Pacific region)
DVX100AE or AEN...model in the Europe
DVX102...model for the East Asian/Asian market.

Techncial details (except the NTSC/PAL diff and respective resolution detials etc) are EXACTLY the same on all of these models under the ISO ceritfication.

I wondered the same thing when I got my DVX 6 months ago. I picked it up from a local authorized dealer, and when I got home, the warranty work and manual said "panasonic canada." Plus the manual was in English and French. My dealer assured me that it was legit and under warranty so I didn't worry about it.

Does this mean that the Rebate Promotion they have going on is still valid?
