Re: Cinevate Atlas 30 on Light Stands

Re: Cinevate Atlas 30 on Light Stands

I have a Cinevate Atlas 30.

It's great for propping up onto two light stands in case you need the elevation.

However, I notice that the light stands I have it wobbles too much because the Atlas 30 is not snug enough on the light stands.

What is a good solution for this? Is there an adapter that I can screw onto the tip of the light stand to give it a more snug fit to the Atlas 30?

Hey,

Are you finding there is wobble even when tightening on with a screw/fastener? I recommend using the All Terrain Leg Kip handle to secure the slider although any 1/4-20 threaded fastener or handle will do.

Yea mine does the same thing. I've been using two ladders as a replacement, however that limits me to only horizontal movements.

Oh, one other thing, if you haven't done so already, is removing the tripod adapter plates. You have probably done this already but in the past I've heard people with similar issues but hadn't taken the flat plate off their end blocks which allows the spud to go right through the block. If this isn't the case fire me an email Luke [@] cinevate [dot] com

Hey Luke,

Could you elaborate on your suggestion? I can't seem to visualize how it would solve my problem.

Thanks

Hey
I was thinking maybe you were using a thumb screw to tighten the block to the light stand, if that were the case our 'KIP' handle or long arm screw might give you better leverage to tighten it down. Having said that, any screw or fastener should work with enough turning. You'll notice I've also removed the tripod adapter plates for this quick pic which is the recommended config for light stand or c-stand mounting. Hopefully that helps, but if you have questions I'll check back to answer 'em ;)

OHHHHHH. I was totally studying some of the BTS footage from Still Motion to see how they got their's so stable, and I totally overlooked that kip handle!!!!
