re: Camera bags

I have a BugOut Bag with a Pelican 1525 padded divider set... perfect fit, carries just about everything I need.

+1 on the Crumpler bags. My wife and I also use a 5M bag as a carry-around. We only put one 5D with one lens in it though. I suppose it could hold another lens but would seem cramped to me.

You probably couldn't fit a bunch of zoom lenses in there, but I've got a gripped T2i + 10-22, 18-55, Sigma 30, and Canon 50 1.8 to fit in there. On top of that I have the extra battery tray for the grip, a bunch of filters, memory cards, charger + batteries...it's pretty insane what you can put in there.

That Crumpler 5 million dollar home bag looks nice! Whats the inside lining like?

All I currently have is my (enormous) Lowepro computrekker plus aw. I need something smaller I can tool around town with.

I went with the Domke F-803 a while ago, fits DSLR with lens plus 4 other lenses the way I have it set up. External pockets for batteries/charger plus there's an ipad-fitting back pocket. I get compliments on this bag all the time. Unfortunately it does look a little photog-ish so thieves could also "compliment" you in an urban setting.

shrigg, its a little bit more expensive but I've always loved the look of Domke. Nice setup

I got mine for 79.95 from Adorama... didn't seem bad at all to me for a bag of that quality. I'd buy it again.

edit: Looking back through my emails, I see I bought mine Christmas 2007. Looks like price has risen since then, but a super durable bag like this comes at a price I guess

It's really nice - it's very urban fashionable and it doesn't obviously look like a camera bag. The lining itself is pretty typical for a camera bag, except snot green. The bag that I have and the all black one are the only ones with green - I think the rest have a red or orange lining.

The interior has 3 compartments for your body and lenses. I've got my gripped T2i with the 10-22 attached, Sigma 30 on the left, and 18-55 and 50 1.8 on the right. There's enough space for your hoods too, you just need to pack creatively.

I will say that if you've got L glass, don't expect to put more than your camera with lens + 1 additional lens. I tried to pack a 16-35 in there once and I had to clear almost everything else out. 6 Million Dollar Home would be a better choice in that case.

The top flap has a mesh pouch where I've got my filters, and there's a front pouch where I put my charger and extra batteries and memory cards. There's also 2 side pockets that are accessible even when the bag is closed, but if you've already stuffed the interior compartments there's not all that much you can put there other than your phone. I've got my extra battery tray for my grip in one of those pockets.

shrigg - I love the "bag O primes" you got there :)

hendosan - With the exception of the grip, we have almost the same stuff. The snot green lining I could do without but other than that it look stellar! I'm torn to be honest with you :/

Get the Brown/Orange bag, it probably is a lot better to take outside and the colors don't stand out as much.

I only got Gray/Red because it matches a lot of my clothes :-p

Been doing photography for twenty years and still looking for the "right" bag.

I'm sure a few million other 20 year shooters are thinking the same thing.
As a 30 year plus shooter, I'm compelled to wonder at the quality of your work.
I've had a few bags. Been using the same TAMRAC for 25 years and when I go covert, I use garrish totebags for camera carry.
I like surplus military canvas because it it looks like surplus military canvas, which is pretty safe.
Anything with a logo on it is death. domke, tamrac etc...
