RC - GoPro

Has anyone used the GoPro? a friend of mine sent me this video and I have been thinking this will be the way to go get those high shots that I need without having to hire a real helicopter. The footage from the GoPro is really good!!!

In short, flying an RC plane or heli is not easy or cheap but the AR Drone is the best option available.

There's a new AR Drone 2.0 just announced, with a 720p camera built-in, the quality won't likely be as good as the GoPro, but it might be good enough for many people.

i dont know that that's going to replace the beauty-shots that big clients want. but it sure would do the trick for quite a few other uses!

I would recommend looking at the cheaper helicopters and multicopters before moving up to the big guns. I (foolishly) went out and bought a TREX 450 Sport to use with my gopro and I destroyed my training rotors within my first 15 minutes of "flying." These copters can add quite a bit to a shoot and if used effectively can make you much more than what you'll have to invest in them. But try out the simulators and little copters first. These big ones aren't toys!
