Hey guys I'm planning on getting a Raynox XL-3000PRO snap on wide angle filter for some cool shots.

Would you trust this thing on the 20mm with a 46mm to 67mm step up ring while the gh1 is attached to a gripper 3025 suction cup mount with manfrotto head which is attached to a car doing car stunts @ 60+ MPH?

also anyone know if this will vingette bad on the 20mm or @ 14mm on the 14-140?

Hahahaha.

That is to say, I wouldn't trust it even without the WA adapter. I'm just not that trusting. I always use 3 points of contact for car mounts. Beyond that, perhaps with a generous amount of gaff tape to secure that thing to the camera. It's just pressure clips holding it on, right?

Cool lens otherwise...

The gripper suction cup is rated to hold 125lbs and the manfrotto head can hold up to 8lbs... it is vacuum suction enable through a pump system. There was a test video on their site with the setup holding a handycam while drifting.

what about this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/r.html?R=P...dp/B0041P5KHS/ref=pe_54110_19310380_pe_vfe_t3

with a manfrotto super clamp and GH1 w/ WA adapter setup? what do you think about that?

I've used vacuum pump mounts without tie-downs on jet boat hulls before (XL1 back in the day...) I had no choice as the boats had no place to tie a strap to where they wanted the camera. The thing slammed waves at 70mph and did fine. I did have insurance on the rental though...

I'd actually be more inclined to use this, along with a couple of hard points with a mafir or cardellini attached to the body and tied down. I love car mounts, but I go way overboard on securing the camera.

I'd also want to put one of these on to the top and use a c-stand arm/clamp to the body to secure the camera from shaking:

The GH1 was used ( maybe still being used ) in the Fox series Human Target as B cam (car stunts, etc. ) Here's a pic of GH1 in armour:

Then there's always the GoProHD, designed for action! :

I wanna avoid a whole new camera setup. I'd have to get more batteries etc. the raynox gives a 180' FOV which matches the go pro look. so i'm good there, plus i get incamera playback and manual exposure control with the gh.

Another thing to worry about is CMOS jello. Car mounts seem to bring out the worst - exponentially.

Google for some examples. My weapon of choice would be a CCD sensor.

As always: test, test, test. Then make up your own mind.

Yes, but I'm on a budget and so far my current rig with the gh1 does fairly well with jello.
