raylight and premier

Raylight can easily be used to edit in premier but there doesnt seem to be anyway to export HD video from premier after the edit - you are locked into the resolution that you start the project in or if you try to use the media encoder you cannot enter HD resolution.

Has anyone been able to do this?

I just did it from Premiere 6.0 (yes, 6.0!) so I can't see why it wouldn't work from Premiere Pro... just output as a Microsoft AVI, told it to use the RayLight codec and gave it a frame size of 1280x720 and it appears to have worked... you could certainly output to any other format (such as .wmv etc).

You can always go out to uncompressed - with canopus edius, you get the canopus hq codec which works well.

I am not sure what I was doing wrong but I will work on it again today - I will try both the MS avi and uncompressed to see how it works,

Barry - i got it to export properly from premier using the raylight codec but then if i use sorenson squeeze on it I get a "no data" in the window. I used the highest setting for both export and in squeeze.

Could it be cause i have the eval? - maybe there is a new version

Finally i used the HQ codec and that worked - but its not the full resolution that it should be, something gets lost or overly compressed along the way

Hmmm, honestly I don't know. Marcus has some mention of how to export in the raylight faq's, check his page at DVFilm.com/raylight for more info. Or drop him a line directly; there is no better source of raylight info than Marcus van Bavel himself.
