RAW SxS card adapter for ex1 not recognized

I recently purchased a new ex1R and a RAW SxSSDHC card adapter with a 32gb delkin pro SD card to go inside. Now when I powered the camera up it says on the LCD that it cannot use media, unsupported file system. Is this a common issue with these 3rd party card manufacturers? Perhaps i have to download software or upgrade firmware on the camera? Any one have experience with e RAW brand of card systems? Any advice would be huge.

I'm shooting in amsterdam, Budapest, and Vienna so incase anyone knows of any service centers out here thanks.

I believe the latest firmware update for the EX1-R gives you the ability to use some adapters with some SD cards.

Hmm....that would not leave us many options being in holland...can I download the firmware off the Internet and upload it onto the camera via USB connection or do I have to send it Sony either way?

Why do the 3rd party card designers do this? And why does a brand new ex1 not have this firmware already installed?

This is urgent so any advice would help

That is incorrect. The very first version of EX1 needed the upgrade. EX1-R was good to go from day one. The problem must be in the adapter or SD memory card.

BTW... Sony has just come out with their own (Flash 34) Adapter and their own brand of SDHC cards.
 
Hi Sean,
In regards your EX1R and the unsupported file prompt on the LCD, every new memory card you buy has to be formatted firstly on the camera before use. EX1R will treat unformatted memory with this prompt. Please go to the menu | others | and scroll all the way down to format media. See how you go.
Just to let everyone know, that the EX1 prompt to unformatted media is different to the EX1R. It is NOT the adapter or SD card...

You are a lifesaver and I cant believe i didn't think of troubleshooting this way. Fortunately we were able to borrow a real SxS from our other filmer and use that for a few days. I just did the format and it works perfect! Thanks again for everyone's help!
