RAW SDHC Adapters - any good?

Are these worth the savings over buying regular old SxS cards....or is it a "you get what you pay for" deal.

I might be buying a camera for a pretty big show, and I'll be in the field. I dont want to rent my camera to them and have gear go bunk on me...

So, are these reliable or should I just stick with getting SxS?

These are the same adaptors as the MxM & MxR adaptors. They are all the same unit other than the sticker on the side.

So it's at your own risk basically. Anyone have longterm experience using them? Reliability?

Some people have been using them exclusively since the Kensington adaptor compatibility was worked out late last year. There have been a few problems, but only related to either a faulty SDHC card or faulty reader. In this same time I have seen at least 2 people with faulty genuine SxS media as well.

SxS is also your own risk, the reality is all media is.

I never had an issue with P2 cards before or SxS, so I guess thats where I am coming from. If it comes down to it, maybe I'll get one as back up...never a bad idea and price is right.

do the sd cards protrude out the back of the RAW SxSxSDHC cards like they do in the kensington? or are the exactly the same as the MxX cards and insert flush?
