Raptors stuff.

Awe thats so sweet Raptor - absolutely spiffing *strokes RAF moustache* as you can imagine in the UK the Spitfire is seen as an inspirational aircraft (the combination of its performance and romantic appearance during the Battle of Britain!) Hurrah!

Yeah my dad started off working on the spit after the war and went on to working on most of the figthers into the mid 80's. There are a beauty and that merlin sound is music.
Sorry about responding late. I didn't want to over-saturate the thread with chit-chat, but yeah, the spit is one of the major classics. Another is the BF or MF-109. Others are the Sherman tank and the Tiger, Panther. Man, those were, well, I digress...

I wanted to post some other odds and ends in a moment if ya'll let me and don't mind. Thank-ya-kindly and carry on with the great work Lawrie my friend. I'll be damned but I still can't texture like that. You have the skills there for sure.

A little blast from my personal past (yeah, gettin old). Was going to start a thread in the cafe but wth, I'll put it here.
It's still Raptors stuff, haha. I ran into a few old friends online recently which led to this.
JFTR I didn't start off being an asshole ya know, haha. I just ended up that way.

A fine job! Tempo was little too fast and (?). With a slower tempo you would have be able to execute the details more
effectively. Keep up the good work. (1969)

Great advice. Then and now.

Viva La Accordian King... Raptor Rules!

(Hat's off for posting this stuff, I'd be doing everything I could to hide it if it were me. You'll never see any photos of me playing my first instrument...the Banjo!)

Good stuff Raptor. I played the clarinet when I was a kid. Pretty geeky but I got to go to Hawaii with the school band. Now I've played the guitar for 25yrs, much more cool.

The (?) looks like "unsteady" to me...

Hey tower, post some pics, in your own thread if you like. I made it to Mexico for 6 months during high-school by playin R&R. Even the principal and all my friends thought I was FOS at the time, untill they started getting post cards, haha. Do it man, I'd love to see some old pics if ya got em.

Very cool Gord :). Thats great you still have those pics. I played a bit of guitar/piano when I was young but I was mostly a athlete played b-ball in college.

No major updates. I'm trying to keep track of my odds and ends. I seem to have stuff scattered all over. Also doubles as more shameless promotion I suppose. :)

A few new vimeo uploads on older projects, just to get them out of the way.

Some of my C4D scripts can be found in this thread.

tpwriter plugin I wrote for C4D-PC download.

paradise lost thread.

Unfinished face...I need to get back to this soon.
I may work on that some more this afternoon. I've been really busy the past few weeks.

That seems to be it, I can see that now. Thanks.
It's almost as if he slipped with the pencil on the first letter and over corrected.
But yeah, "Tempo was a little too fast and unsteady". Story of my life haha.

Good luck in the dvxfest Tom. I caught you in the Adfest entry but I was unable to vote.
My modem took a hit from a storm Aug 20 and I just got it replaced as well as the phone line outside fixed. I couldn't download all of the entries without dropping out.
But you did an excellent job. I was watching Serum and said 'Hey, I know that guy" haha.

Some really nice work there Gord! I still really really admire your camera mapping example - 3d illusion from 2d photos. I really want to embark on a project like that.

I've been so busy hard to keep up at dvxuser but I enjoy your work Gord!

You should have written something back to him... like... "Pen strokes unsteady. Lacks consistency. Still needs work on penmanship." :D

Thanks for the good luck wishes with Monsterfest. Hopefully things will work out well. I've got most of the people in place. Still need an actress and a sound guy, but that's about it...

And yeah, Serum was a fun shoot. Jason's a cool cat...

Yeah, I should write him back about that. I can't see it again now though, the 'unsteady' I mean.

And he said 'be' instead of 'been' so I think he was not english language too well understandably.
(Sorry, I read too many non english posts to have correct grammar anymore.).

Yep. No CG updates I'm afriad. Working on a NDA project so it may be a while.

But...someone sent me a couple long lost photos. Thought I'd share.

Me, my nephew and my dog, back in the day...

This is continuing with my failed 'Blue Blobs from Hell' experiment last year when I tried experimenting with particles to help create organic shapes.

My first attempt turned out horribly grotesque.
I've been trying additional methods this last week and I'm much happier with the results.
Still things to work out ofcourse.

This is the first frame, no post processing yet, of a 6 second animation that's currenttly under render.
Needs a little DOF so I'm rendering depth maps as well. I'm not focusing much on composition with this either. Just showing the concept.

The small preview animation test I found to be visually interesting so I'm proceeding with the big render, about 200+ rendering hours.

But even looking at a single frame I get more ideas for conventional scenes with other organic models like plants, creatures and spaceships so I'm pretty happy with it in that sense so far.

Happy Fridays.
Rock n Roll.

-Gord.

Is that you on the left?

No. That's my dog. I'm stting next to her. The little kid is my nephew. And I'm much older and meaner now, lol.

Hey Josh. Yeah, a little crazy looking isn't it?
I have another one to do after this render but it'll be more conventional sci-fi-ish.
Based on the same particle mesh idea but more 'conventional'. Whenever this crazy thing gets rendered.

Anways, it's a break from modelling furniture. Just had to do something different for a couple days to break the monotony.
