Rap Video (Banned From Facebook) Shot on HVX w/35mm Brevis

Politics aside...

The panning of people watching the video got a bit old by the 4th minute. Probably more an issue of the length of the song/music video than the quality of the shots. Interested concept, though the story sort of gets lost about half way through. Again, perhaps cutting down the length of the song (not unusual for music videos) would help concentrate your material a bit more effectively.

Some of the images are graphic for sure; I spent most of Cast Lead with BBC and AP correspondents, as well as at local hospitals interviewing those from effected area (Gaza and Israel). I think the use of the footage from the military operation is too easy. A friend of mine who cuts in LA once told me that cutting an action trailer is pretty mindless because you don't need to worry about plot, it more has to do with the pulp of your shots, which are quite numerous because, clearly, if you are cutting an action movie, you have a ton of action shots.

I think the same can be true here. Your use of footage of wounded civilians is provocative, but I don't know if its done as best it could be. It feels like its sprinkled on without much forethought. While I know you cut this in two days, and that is extremely impressive, I am sure your next shoot, with more time to plan, can be more thoughtful in its construction.

Overall, well done. I'd love to see your next video. Why was it banned on Facebook?

good job on putting the video together, quality looked great. facebook bans videos all the time. anything that looks like u dont own the copyrights, i had two videos deleted by facebook because i was using a song from Mogwai, something real subtle that's not even popular.....have no idea how they monitor their videos. guess some group of geeks sit up all night monitoring the stuff to make sure they dont get a sh&t storm of lawsuits like youtube.
