Hey guys,
Well, I havent been around as much (not that my presence was ever really known) because I've been hanging out over at REDUser getting ready for a feature I am opping on a R1. But, I did get a chance to shoot a music video for a friend of a friend of a friend; and man am I surprised. I almost didn't do this, but I am glad I did. This guy is super talented and a great person who wants to do right by his word. Below is a link to the music video on Vimeo. His music isn't what I normally listen to, but even I can tell it's something I wanna hear on the radio.
Quick disclaimer: I didn't have artistic control as I had wanted, so the music video plot and disconnect between audio/video (in terms of lip syncing) was how he imagined it. But really it is all preference.
I shot this on my DVX 100B with a LetusFE and Canon FD 24mm and 50mm lenses in 2 days. Edited in FCS2, graded in MB Looks.

I would like some feedback.

Thanks Guys

really liked this video. luv the storyline of him jus on the grind tryin' to get his music out and nto even asking for $$. real hustle.
I'm an sgpro fan, but the letus shines in this ( they all do the same things anyway i guess:) ). grading is nice. I also liked the fact that he just laid the track over the video instead of having a performance ...or synching to the music.

oh and putting the video info on the right hand side...nice touch.
good work Banksie.

Very Nice Work! The camera work is awesome. I'm still new to this but I think there should have been a lot more performance cut aways. Too bad you didnt have more creative control.

I would have used the battle outside the bodega in the beginning as a performance scene. Would have been cool to see them walk in and starting spitting the song.

Thanks Jambredz.

DeepBass, haha that was one of my ideas. I suggested each time he talk to someone, or sing int he video, that it link up to the song...that way its not full on music video where he acknowledges the camera, but a fun little sync in audio/video
