Range Finding for DVX100

I'm starting to shooting more and more stage productions using two DVX100s and one DVC80...all fitted with the anamorphic lens. Since focus is super critical with these lenses -- and to use Barry's focus chart -- you need to have a very good idea of distances. So, does anyone know of an accurate laser range finding device? If so, where do you get them?

I recently shot Cinderella in 16x9. Two of the cameras were focused very well. The third camera was just a bit off...resulting in anything even approaching a tight shot being soft. I'll be able to work around it, but I'd just as soon avoid the problem all together next time round.

range finders can be pretty expensive, but you could easily do a search for them online.. but most nice range finders are in the 100's to 1000's of dollars and are made for measuring very long distances

i havent tried it, but I would assume it should work..
