Hello friends, I'd like to start a thread, that if successful, might even become a sticky to which we can continue to contribute for a long time as gear comes into play. This is a place for all sorts of film (TV, commercial, event etc.) related gear that's maybe not immediately easy to classify as to which section it goes to. It might not even be originally meant to be aimed at film, but has been repurposed for production. It could be anything - sound, lighting, grip, cam, production, post, whatever! In another thread, one of the posters, David W. Jones, mentioned jokerboxes. I had never heard of those, but another poster gave a link, and it looked interesting. So I thought, what if we had a thread about useful gear that can come in handy on a production. Everyone can chime in and post - preferably also include a link and a description of how to use it, if it's not obvious. I'll start with the jokerboxes found by David:

I just find it very useful to quickly draw stuff for people, when you don't want to bother with an ipad and apps and batteries and sunlight and breaking and so on - it's a cheapo $30 thing you can throw around and it rolls up with the dryeraser included in a nifty insert. Very useful.
