Ramjet Films presents "Re-Birth"

No countdown clock, sorry. I been having to work election returns here at the station. But it's the same thing, just improved compression, now that I re-figured out how to do h.264 with EDIUS.

so, no need to wait up :)

I don't think it's gonna happen tonight. My first attempt was a 320x180 size and it turned out 120 megs! So I am tinkering :)

On that note, I should have some location stills up sometime late afternoon (central time). It's raining here today, so they will be a bit gray:) Good for the overall mood of Drama Fest though.

Looking forward to seeing more BTS. I know what you mean about the rain - it was pouring in Portland when i left, and from what I hear, the rain keeps on coming .... does add more "drama" to things!

Hey man. Thanks. I'm gonna try to get some new BTS interviews and some stills up sometime in the next couple of weeks, but right now I think I need to focus on trying to get this script going. Writing, sucks

Yeah, the short it self is more important then the BTS unless of course your short is about a BTS crew making a BTS on a dramatic movie.

Good luck with the script. I'm still trying in vain to cut ours down shorter then 10 pages.

I live in Portland, OR for 4 years. Never stopped raining! Seriously, beautiful country up in the northwest.

What's the story, Jason? Anything yet???

You can say that again. My grand parents live up around there and hopefully some day I can take over their ranch and shot a movie.

UPDATE:
I will be doing some shooting of the monologue sequence again today. Partly for testing of footage (though, I think I am getting fairly close to something I like) and to see if I can grab some decent stuff today.

Other things I am working on. A next draft of the script. I dont' anticipate the monologue sequence changing too much. It's the rest of it. Particularly the story as a whole. I am still trying to flesh it out, and get it to say what I intend it to. Make things more clear as to what is going on, etc., etc.

Also, might have a better quality version up of the first BTS interview. The interview is the same, I am just thinking about putting up a bit larger file size h.264 version, and a wmv version as well. But I may just hold off on that until the next BTS footage rolls through.

Rumor has it J. Edward and Jason will be granting exclusive access into one of their rehearsals!

Nice Jason! Good luck with all this! I can't wait to start our rehearsals and tests now that we have finalised our script.

Can't wait to see some bts again!

Yeah, good luck. Hopefully we get to rehearsals soon, we are starting to stress out a little bit all ready.:undecided

Gimme, gimme!!! I want rehearsal footage!!!

Hey, Jason... thanks for the "homecoming party" you guys threw for me! :)

No problem, Ted.

I will do my best to get some rehearsal footage up tonight, but I have been at work since before dawn so I am kinda wasted. We shall see.

Welcome home. I am sure you're wife missed you. And probably had a few things to say about those hot tub picks. :) ke hee

Jason

Yeah. there were a few things said about a lot of stuff on the thread!

No biggies... she is a wonderful woman who is curious what her husband is up to when he is 3000 miles away. If I was unfaithful, boy oh boy...

But I am not that way and she knows it. So, I do wonder why I have to assure her.

It's all good, though.

Thanks for the comments.

Ted

Update is there isn't much of an update.

I did find the cleanest look yet from the HVX. It was very clean as a matter of fact. It's amazing what some light will do! :)

Beyond that, the rest of the night was a bit of a wash. I am losing my inspiration. I have been awake for too damn many hours and I need to get some sleep, because I get to get up ass early again tomorrow, so try again next time.

Jason

Don't lose hope man. The hardest part is the up front learning/testing/planning and then after that it get's a lot better. Besides, if you can make a BTS that is that clever I'm sure what ever you have in mind for the actual project will be great.

Thanks for the comments Jeremy.

Some good news... I may have inked a very talented writer/co-writer, who will bring a fresh perspective and a bit of maturity to the story, judging from the feedback I have gotten from him so far. It's not a huge secret, as one could easily find out who I am talking about, but I may announce later, or I will let him do so himself, if he so desires.

Thanks,
Jason

P.S. I may be a bit incognito the next day or so, as I am even further in the boondocks then usual and have to deal with dial up at my parents while they spend some time with their grand-daughter. I will update if there is something to update, and get caught up on everyone's threads at the beginning of the week if I don't get a chance before then. Hope everyone is doing well.

Jason

Alright so here's an UPDATE that I am very excited about.

Larry_R (Larry Rutledge) - who originally offered up some ideas on my first draft, and was acting as a script consultant, has now agreed to be writer/co-writer for "Re-Birth".

I am very excited about this, as a) He will bring a fresh perspective and set of eyes to the story/process. b) I was highly impressed by the notes he offered up. c) It will allow me to focus on other aspects of the process.

Thanks Very MUCH to Larry_R

Jason
