FS7: Raincover?

Hey Folks,

As any minute now it will probably start raining again here in the Space City I am wondering if you folks have a
DIY solution for a raincover for a FS7?

Trash bag and gaffer tape? Anything more elegant?

I traded emails with one vendor who is still working on their solution and explained that many of us are using small still lenses so they need to allow for that.

Short of a rain cover made specifically for the Fs7, a rain cover made for the Ex3 would likely work fairly well. The loupe is about the same dimensions and the length of the Fs7 with an EF zoom is close to the overall length of the Ex3.

I've had luck in a pinch with an Ex1 and those clear insta rain ponchos and tape.

Hello,

Anybody try a Porta Brace RS-FS7 yet? Sometimes they reply to my emails and sometimes not. I last reinterated that the lens coverage needs to be adjustable from big Cine lenses down to small still lenses.

Interesting, at least one other shooter listed several problems with that one. I don't recall the specifics.

In the picture the mic is not fully covered. The Porta Brace is significantly cheaper so I am curious to know if someone has tried it.

Agree Ben. We have one. Useful as you can extend the sleeve for longer lenses.
It does what it says on the tin - keeps the rain out here in England, so it will probably work in Houston too.

In the above Chris_Stevens points out areas where the Camrade does not fit. You folks are not experiencing this?

That's strange, I bought mine from CVP too and it all lines up correctly with no problems. Must be a few bad apples in the batch.

Good to know. Unless somebody has tried the Porta Brace RS-FS7, I will spend the extra for the Camrade.


One last time, anybody try the Porta Brace one?

CVP was way too tight... sent it back and getting the porta brace one now... should be with me in a few days.
