I'm helping someone by doing second camera at a wedding shhot. He just wrote me:
"I do risk long term damage to my camera for the sake of someone who wants to go "rain or shine"
I wrote back:
"In my case I don't think that would be worth my while. I do have an umbrella but not a rain cover. I'd hate to be in the middle of a ceremony, have a down pour and feel I have to protect my camera at the expense of someone's once in a lifetime shot but to loose a $3,000+ camera on a $85/day rental makes no sense."
What should I do? How much rain is too much rain? Can I use just an umbrella effectively? What about a garbage bag? How much does a rain cover cost and what is the best? Or should I get my camera to complete dryness as quickly as possible?
Thanks.
